Former Attorney, Anuj Gupta has been serving the people of Philadelphia in City Government, as the Executive Director of the Mt. Airy Community Development Corporation, General Manager of the Reading Terminal Market and now, as Chief of Staff for Congressman Dwight Evans. Anuj was a judge at the first MISSION Story Slam and was so inspired, he insisted on telling a story as well. He returned to tell a story at MISSION Story Slam 2: Saving Democracy.

DAVE DAVIES
Veteran Journalist and Broadcaster Dave Davies has spent his career reporting on Philadelphia politics. He recently retired as Senior Reporter for WHYY after working as Bureau Chief for KYW News Radio and columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News. He is currently the guest host for Terry Gross on NPR’s Fresh Air.
Dave won Crowd Favorite at MISSION Story Slam 2: Saving Democracy telling a story about covering Congressman Bob Brady and Philly Machine Politics. He donated his prize to 1812 Productions, Philly’s all-comedy theater company.

G. Benjamin Bingham
Ben Bingham is a Certified Financial Planner™ who draws on broad experience from hands-on management experience at three social enterprises he co-founded: a non-profit community campus for young adults with learning differences, and two technology start-ups, one in biological healthcare, and the other a global workflow solution provider. After 12 years of work advising socially responsible investors, beginning at Legg Mason and Citigroup/Smith Barney, Mr. Bingham founded 3Sisters Sustainable Management LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) along with its research arm (wikipositive.org) and its proprietary fund family (Scarab Funds). He was educated at Yale University and Emerson College in England, where he was certified in Bio-dynamic Agriculture.

Laura and Todd Lacy are building Attic Brewing in Philadelphia. It is the culmination of a dream (and a lot of hard work) that started back in their little Germantown apartment many years ago. Kelly Offner was the first winner of both the Judges’ Award and the Crowd Favorite Award at MISSION Story Slam 3: Saving Us From Ourselves. She is the Executive Director of Keep Philadelphia Beautiful. Previously, Kelly was Director of Cleanups for United By Blue, a Philadelphia-based B Corp that promises to clean up one pound of trash for every item sold. Under Kelly’s direction, UBB has removed over 1.4 million pounds of trash from the world’s waterways.

Artist Karen Singer is the owner of Karen Singer Tileworks in Germantown, Philadelphia and creates works of great beauty in her studio there. Her tile Donor Walls help nonprofits raise money and her classes teach new artists the skills to create with ceramic. Karen is also on the Board of Women In Transition, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that helps women dealing with domestic abuse and substance abuse issues. Karen’s story about escaping an abusive relationship won the first MISSION Story Slam. Mara Nissley is the Communications and Events Manager for the ALS Hope Foundation. Her work honors her beloved Grandfather who passed away from ALS in 2000. In her story, Mara tells us of the connection between her Grandfather’s gentle teaching and her desire to make a difference in the lives of people living with ALS. Grace Palladino
Grace Palladino is a veteran educator, having taught History and Civics in the Philadelphia School District for over a decade. Currently, she is the School Coordinator for Committee of Seventy’s Draw The Lines initiative and is teaching at Temple University. Lawrence Husick is a founding partner of Lipton, Weinberger & Husick, an Intellectual Property and Technological Law Firm, and Chief Innovation Officer of Cloud Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He is a faculty member at the Whiting Graduate School of Engineering and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Graduate Biotechnology Program of the Johns Hopkins University and Co-Chairman of the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Center for the Study of Terrorism where he concentrates on the study of terrorist tactics and counterterrorism strategies.
