YVONNE HASKINS
The 1960s finds Yvonne in Philadelphia struggling to start a career when an advertisement to join the police force changes her trajectory. As one of the few black women on the police force Yvonne navigates the turbulent 60s including the student protests of the Philadelphia Board of Education which was violently suppressed by the police. That event coupled with the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr, as well as the institutional racism of the north leaves Yvonne angry and disillusioned in a clip from a documentary by PWPvideo
